Links of the Week

From time to time I will post links to articles, blogs, and information that catch my attention…

1. Rudy Giuliani challenges the Republican status quo on Social Issues. I find this article worthwhile because it represents a shift in conservative politics that may have some staying power over the next twenty years, though I’m not sure it will get him very far in the ‘08 election. It seems people are growing more and more comfortable with the tension that exists within Giuliani’s position (and others like him) on various hot-button social issues. I think there are a lot more people who are o.k. with such tension within each political party but are scared to death to say so.

2. For anyone who gives of their time to youth ministry, this You Tube video is great.

3. A New Church for a New Century. This particular article is written by Stephen Hayner, Associate Professor of Evangelism and Church Growth at Columbia Theological Seminary. Other articles written in response to this one can be found on the site and are also worthwhile. As I begin a new chapter of ministry, these are the kinds of things I’m being asked to engage and share as the Church moves forward.

4. Dan Kimball asks about the clothes we wear, the origin of the tie, and our customs when it comes to worship. Good stuff-
