I think the viability of the church in North America (as we currently know it) rests on her ability to show another “way” of doing life and community in a way that reflects the early church of Acts. Jesus calls people to follow him, saying “I am the way.” He calls us to consider life and living from a kingdom perspective that consequently demands a re-orienting of priorities (see Mark 10:17-29). When we come to the end of ourselves, our busy schedules, and frenetic pace, we’ll wonder what took us so long to get it together…
